Good morning

Our newly roasted Peking Duck being cut up in front of us

Worlds largest one-piece stone carving (200 000 kg!)

Forbidden City a.k.a. Imperial Palace

Mao is watching you

Today is our first 'full' day in Beijiing. Freezing Beijing. The houses don't have central heating, and although we have the airconditioner set at 30 C we slept with long johns and t-shirts on.

We live in a quite a charming hostel literally around the corner from the Forbidden City. After breakfast we will walk to Tian'anmen Square to check out Mao, and then stroll around inside of the walls of the Forbidden City where people were not allowed in for 491 years.
